JOSIAH

I'm so proud of my little boy. He is finally figuring out how to get dressed all by himself. Just another milestone for a 2 1/2 year old. The shirts are usually on backwards and on this particular day his shorts were inside out. As you might guess he is picking out the clothes he wants to wear too, that is why he is wearing shorts when it's 20 degrees out!

Oh, and here is a close up of his face. This is 6 weeks after he fell and hit it on the dining room chair. No more bruising and there is only a very faint scar on the bridge of his nose.

This is what he looked liked days after the incident...OUCH!

Big Kid Beds

We have rearranged the kids' rooms once again. Now Hope and Josiah have "big kid beds" and Livia will be able to sleep in the crib instead of the pack-n-play.

Hope has a double bed now. The head board is from her "convertible crib" and the mattress was her Great Grandma B's.

Josiah has a twin bed with truck and car sheets and his construction-machines quilt his Grandma Dennis made him. The twin bed was daddy's when he was a boy. (As you can tell we like hand-me-down and sentimental items). Oh, ya, his dresser in the picture was daddy's too! :)

Livia's Stats

Livia had her 2 month check up today. She weighed in at 12 1/2 lbs and was 23 3/4 inches long. She is a healthy and happy girl! She did get her first round of immunizations so hopefully she will sleep well tonight and not be too fussy.

2 Months Old

Livia Mae is 2 months old today!

We celebrated by eating some chocolate cake with pink frosting (this was Hope's suggestion). She has her check up on Thursday afternoon so we will be excited to see how big she has gotten...I'm guessing close to 12 pounds and maybe 22 inches or so?

SnowBigDeal

We spent the weekend with high school students from North Whatcom County Young Life at their winter camp near Mt. Baker. Andy was the speaker and shared with the students the message of God's love and Holiness.

Our family had a great time on our mini-getaway. All of the kids traveled well, and slept well the 2nd night. The first night they were so excited that they didn't go to bed until 11pm, and then decided to start their day the next morning at 4am! (Actually, Livia slept the best out of all of us)!

Hope absolutely LOVED the snow and sledding. Joey on the other hand wasn't too fond of the snow and didn't like being cold. Here is a clip of Hope and Daddy sledding:

The Past Week

I really enjoy the 2-3 year old stage because there is so much learning, imagination and growth happening and I love to see this develop in my children. This last week Josiah turned 2 1/2 years old. I was one who said I would never call this stage "the terrible two's", but am now considering using this phrase. On the morning of Thursday, January 22nd I walked downstairs at 7:15am to find a dozen raw broken eggs all over the carpet, the couch and the wall and Joey was standing there with the empty egg carton. (No, I do not have any pictures!). It was a complete mess and I did have to take a few moments to just cry, but now I can look back and see yet another little challenge we survived! :)

Also, this last week Livia Mae turned 1 month old. I have no idea where the last 4 weeks went? She started smiling and cooing this last week and continues to bring so much joy to our lives. She is doing well at falling into routine with good sleep and awake cylces and eating well in between.

Our Hope continues to make me stop in my tracks each day...I can't believe she will be 4 years old in two months. She is growing into such a sweet young girl. She is my amazing helper during the day (I don't think I could survive without her). I love watching her skip around the house, change her clothes for dress up at least 10 times each day, and see her beautiful smile. I notice many things she does and says are imitations of me and it makes me really reflect on how I'm living my life each day. I pray she is seeing Jesus in me and will make that same decision someday to follow Him and live her life the way He commands us to in the Bible.
