Ducklings

After 28 days of sitting Momma Duck (aka: Daisy) has some babies. A couple little heads peeked out tonight. What an awesome experience to be able to witness in our own yard. The kids have enjoyed waving to Daisy from afar the last month and they were so excited to see the little ducklings heads tonight.

It's kind of difficult to see, but there is a tiny yellow head under the right wing under her.

The little yellow head is to the lower right front of her as well.

Andy & Amy Getaway

Andy surprised me last week with a two night getaway, just for the two of us. We headed up to Cedar Springs (a Christian Retreat Center) in Sumas, WA. We were only an hour away from home, which was great because we didn't use all of our time travelling. We stayed in a little cabin and enjoyed the beautiful gardens. We had time to sit and read for hours at a time, took an amazing 3-4 mile hike, and just relaxed (I got to sleep in, while Andy was of course up at his usual 5am alarm). :)

It felt like we had an extra busy April with Andy finishing his last Theology class, our Young Life Banquet, me finishing up with Women's Bible Study, Andy preparing and giving a sermon at North Bay Christ the King and just all the other regular activities of life. Our two day getaway was planned perfectly (THANK YOU ANDY) between our busy April and Andy's 3 week trip to Israel in May-June.

In the midst of what seems like a crazy life we have such a peace and assurance this is exactly where God would have us. He continues to provide for all of our needs and fulfills our hearts desires. Praise the Lord!

Dinner out

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or stand in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Psalm 1:1-3

Our Life Recently...

I've noticed when I do blog posts they all come at once. This is because I finally download all the pictures off the camera and then take the time to organize them on the computer and then upload them to the blog to share...this usually happens once a month. I would like to get better about posting what's going on each day with words and pictures because there are so many moments in the day with the kids where I think, "I need to write that down so I will remember it later in life." Anyways, so here are just a few pictures from the last month...I am sure more will follow soon.

Hope and Josiah built a tent in Joey's room last week and had good intentions of sleeping in it all night (they last about an hour)...

Livia loves to talk and she tries to say pretty much every word you say to her. She is such a cutie and can be such a ham too!!!

Mommy Duck

Here is the mommy duck who has made residence in our yard. We haven't noticed any eggs yet, but I'm sure they will be here soon.

I learned some interesting facts about Mallard Ducks. A male and female pair up, but once the female lays the eggs the male duck abandons her. Then the female will incubate her eggs for about 27-28 days until they hatch. It looks like she will be around for at least the next month. The male duck was in our yard this morning too, but I'm sure he'll be gone in the next couple of days when the eggs are layed.
